"You cross my path" was given for free from Xfm? Why? Do u think music should be free?
No, I don't think music should be free. We gave Y.C.M.P away for free because the music business needed shaking up and we just showed that it wasn’t a big deal giving our music away for free, because everyone downloads mp3s for free anyway...We just wanted to be anarchists.

You are headlining quite a few festivals this summer, which one is your favourite?
I am happy to announce that i am curating the Isle Of White festival in June. IOW is a good one as is Glastonbury, Coachella, Bennicasim,Primavera.

You resently produced Hatcham Social.
My wife told me how much she loved them and she introduced me to them, I did fall for their charm and melodies.

You have performed with Dirty Pretty Things many times how come?
I have been friends with Carl since the Libertines, he is a great rock n roll star. I met him in a hotel in Trafalgar square in 2002, actually.

What do you think about the venues closures? Hammersmith Palais, Astoria, The Metro and many more?
Quite sad but i guess times change and buildings move on.

What's ur memories from the Astoria and the Hacienda?
Mostly just a haze of drink drugs and loud music xxx

You've support The Who and The Stones a couple of times...Do u remember how u felt the first time?
I thought it was unbelievable when Jagger thanked me personally and then announced Miss you during their set.

You live in L.A now. Why is that? Are you tired of England?
A. I love England and London in particular, i just like LA for the weather and the space, the inspiration and the food.

You've seen Cat Power, and New York Dolls the last months is that rite?
Do u enjoy going to gig's? And what's the best gig u've been to?
That is right ..! the best gig possibly New Order at the Hacienda 86. Cramps at the Shoreline ampitheatre in 91. Or the Libertines at Coachella 2003 or The Horrors at Electroworks 2007

You've said : Once a raver always a raver. Are u still a raver?
A A RAVER YES

You was supposed to play in Greece in a Festival that included Nick Cave if i remember well.

I love Greece we played Thessaloniki and Athens early on but the festival line up would have been soooo good had it not rained and had to be postponed. Ι remember the Fall, PJ Harvey also...

And what’s next for the Charlatans?
Festivals this year and 20th anniversary of some friends next year. Also U.S Tour.
